Welcome to Our Journal

Our story began in 2019 when we got married and bought a little bungalow in Riverside. We spent our days either at coffee shops, or having our friends over to make them lattes with our little Mr. Coffee espresso machine that we bought for maybe $45.

From there, the dream just grew. On the 4th of July in 2021, we started talking about what it would look like to start up a little side business. Coffee just felt like the idea that made the most sense. So I said “hey John, why don’t we look at Facebook market place for a trailer”. We bought a small fisherman’s trailer just a few days later.

We began the process of gutting it, and re-building over the following year. In the midst of the build out was us selling our home, moving, and other life shifts so the camper went on the back burner. Eventually, in June of 2022, we had our grand opening. A backyard celebration with our closest friends.

Over the next couple of years, we served many markets, private events, weddings, and more. In 2023, we welcomed our firstborn son. We served a few more events then ultimately made the decision to close down shop for a while as we navigated more life shifts in our personal family.

In one year, we moved back into a travel trailer that we lived in for 2 years, we moved to Arkansas for a brief period of time, then the Lord brought us back to Wichita. We had plans to sell the coffee camper business but we believed in the Lord’s guidance to keep it and reopen the business.

In August of 2025, we quit our full time job and launched OurFolk Coffee full time. Fast forward to today: The Lord is continuing to work and move and we are so excited for what’s to come.
